Remember the chant, “Celtic and Casuals Don’t Go” from the 1980s?

THAT video of those young causals singing ‘Hope you die in your sleep Brendan Rodgers, from a bullet from the IRA’ has enraged the Celtic support. It has gone viral, media companies around the the world have picked up on it, the Zom sites are loving it, Celtic have officially condemned it, Rodgers will have seen it and it will give him some self justification for doing what he did, everyone at Leicester City will rally round him from the off, so it makes his job easier, hell, even the IRA will have every reason to be mad about being dragged into this.

Rodgers lived the early part of his life in Ireland right in the middle of the Troubles. Those young idiots in that pub don’t look old enough to have been born when the six counties were effectively in the grip of a civil war.

“We have no knowledge of who these individuals are or any connection they have to Celtic,” a Celtic spokesperson said yesterday.

“But one thing is certain – such disgusting and pathetic behaviour would never have any pace at our club and of course we condemn this completely.

“As we have already said, we thank Brendan for his outstanding and historic contribution to the club and we wish him well for the future”.

The Police are looking at the video. Celtic will be too, you would imagine. If these are season ticket holders they may find that their cards won’t work the next time they pitch up at Celtic Park – as the song says referring to evil, “there is no place, in Paradise”.

Look The Celtic support have every right to be angry about the way in which Rodgers walked out on us. Every right. The banner at Tynecastle, while having some critics, has been broadly supported by The Celtic fanbase. But that video was evil, that song – derived from a hymn – regardless of whether it is Nacha Novo or Brendan Rodgers they are singing about – is indeed evil.

Those singing it have no place in Paradise. It is evil.

The Jungle used to sing to the first 10IAR tune, ‘It’s magic you know, Celtic and Casuals Don’t Go’, that was in the eighties when the casuals craze was sweeping the country. It was big at clubs like Hibs, Aberdeen and Rangers but The Celtic support simply wouldn’t tolerate it.

Well we won’t tolerate this now. Find them, ban them – they have no place in Paradise.
