Report: Brendan Rodgers linked with lucrative post-Celtic Saudi move

Former Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is reportedly considering a move to Saudi Arabia. The Irishman sensationally resigned from his role at Celtic Park a fortnight ago after relations with the club appeared to break down beyond repair. Despite Dermot Desmond’s explosive statement, Rodgers has maintained his silence after leaving Celtic.

Now, it is reported by Record Sport that Rodgers will take some time out to consider his next steps after the dramatic Celtic exit. However, it has been claimed that a lucrative move to Saudi could be in his immediate future.

It has been claimed that Rodgers will wait until the end of the season before making a decision, especially with a number of clubs sitting in precarious positions in England. Rodgers will likely fancy a number of clubs in the Premier League as he looks to flex his muscles after a bruising end to his second stint at Celtic.

The impasse between Rodgers and the Celtic Board became a distraction, which aided the attention on the boardroom from the support, who believed that manager was correct in lambasting the lack of progress in the transfer market. The defeat against Midtjylland served up a reminder that Rodgers was well placed in his assessment of the squad, even if he wasn’t right about Callum Osmand.

Rodgers has his backroom staff ready to go with John Kennedy, Adam Sadler, Jack Lyons and Glen Driscoll ready to make the move whenever the ex-Liverpool boss lands. It will be interesting to see what his next move is.

  1. Couldn’t care less where Rodgers career could take him.
Might have been used as a figure head for the collective, with the cheap shot about midtjylland?

Yet, just how many games did we lose this calendar year, where Rodgers Couldn’t get a performance or a result out of our players?

  2. I don’t think real Celtic fans would care where such a toxic person ends up next. He caused more damage to our club than any single individual in history! All of his false claims of love for the club was really love for himself! He knew he was unable to make real inroads on the bigger stage. Dermot Desmond was spot on with his statement on this rat.

  3. He played the fans for fools and is a very toxic and unreliable individual as we have seen twice.
I believe that not many clubs will trust him. Nobody here cares about him or where he goes.
