Report: Celtic interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper

Celtic are reportedly interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Patrick Pentz. The Scottish Champions will be on the look out for a new goalkeeper in the summer after Joe Hart announced earlier this season that he would be hanging up his gloves and retiring.

As reported by Football Insider, Celtic have taken an interest in the 27-year-old, who is currently on loan at Brondby. Pentz has one year remaining on his deal at Bayer Leverkusen and the report states that Celtic could make a move to sign the Austrian Internationalist.

Despite his age, he has only made over 190 appearances in his career and none of those came with the now Bundesliga Champions. His performances have attracted attention from Southampton and PSV ahead of the summer as they look to sign him on a permanent deal.

Celtic have been linked with Aro Muric from Burnley, Alex McCarthy from Southampton and Liam Kelly from Motherwell as Brendan Rodgers looks to sign a new goalkeeper for next season. The Scottish Champions will certainly miss Hart, who has been immense since arriving from Spurs in the summer of 2021.
