Report: Celtic target Shon Weissman offered lucrative Turkish move

SHON WEISSMAN has been one of the names touted as being a Celtic target this summer. The Wolfsberger president Dietmar Riegler even claimed that Celtic had made an offer for the highly-rated attacker.Speaking to Austrian news site Kleine Zeitung , Riegler said that Celtic were one of a few clubs to bid for the 37-goal striker.

“As you already know, he wants to go to Germany or England.

“But we’ve not yet had any inquiries from there.

“Offers have come, amongst others, from Russia and Scotland, from Glasgow Celtic.

“Because of the Corona crisis, everything is different this year. The seasons in Germany have now ended.

“The clubs know where they will play in the coming season. I think the next few days will be interesting for Shon.”

Celtic did deny that the had made an offer as reported in the Scottish Sun. The 24-year-old has one year remaining on his deal and with an incredible tally of 37 goals in 40 appearances.

Now, Fotospor, the Turkish media outlet is claiming that Galatasaray are ready to offer a whooping 2.4m Euros a year (46k per week). The report also claims that the Turkish club have made three payment clauses into the 2.4m Euros that they intend to pay for the Israeli.

“200 thousand euros after every 10th goal scored by the player. 1 million euro to be given after the 50th golden will be the maximum fee.

“100, 200 and 250 thousand euros for the 20th, 40th and 50th games.

“In case Galatasaray participates in the championship and Champions League in the first two years, it is 100 thousand euros, and in the second year it is 250 thousand euros.”

The deal appears to be a lucrative package for Weissman and Wolfsberger, which Celtic may be unwilling to match the deal with Odsonne Edouard, Leigh Griffiths, Bayo and Patryk Klimala competing for the striking roles at the club. With that in mind, Celtic are yet to spend any money in the transfer window and have saved some cash with a number of squad players leaving.
