Report claims Eddie Howe is favourite for Premier League job, despite Celtic link

Reported Celtic managerial target Eddie Howe is becoming increasingly touted for the managerial job with Crystal Palace. Howe has been one of the long standing favourites to replace Neil Lennon as Celtic manager in the summer, with many supporters allowing themselves to believe that the appointment of Dominic McKay as Chief Executive will herald in a new era for the club. However, another report today has emerged saying that Howe, 43, is one of the favourites to replace Roy Hodgson at Crystal Palace.

The Sunday Mirror, via HITC, are reporting that Crystal Palace are looking to bring Howe to the club with Roy Hodgson’s deal set to expire in the summer. The 73-year-old veteran has overseen a period of stability at the London club; however, bosses are keen on a younger manager as they look to build upon the stability created by Hodgson.

Howe has developed a reputation for developing players, often having to rebuild after selling key assets. Neil Lennon looks set to leave the club with Rangers a colossal 18 points clear. The league has been an unmitigated disaster and the rebuilding starts from now.

  1. What nonsense! There is not a chance in Hell that Howe will manage Celtic next season.
