Report: Former Chelsea manager expected to gain momentum in Tottenham manager hunt

Former Chelsea and Brighton manager Graham Potter is expected to gain momentum in Tottenham Hotspur’s managerial search. Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has been strongly linked with the move but his desire to compete in the UEFA Champions League could see him commit to the Scottish Champions.

According to a report from The Daily Mail, Potter is on the list of names that Daniel Levy is considering to replace Antonio Conte as the club’s manager. The 48-year-old was outstanding while manager of Brighton, earning him a move to Chelsea, which was ill-fated.

The report says that Potter’s links to Spurs are expected to gain momentum as the North London club search for their new manager ahead of a large summer overhaul.

Tottenham’s model would suit Potter, who is seen as more of a collaborator than a fighter as a manager, which would appeal to Levy. However, Crystal Palace are also interested in appointing Potter, who is available alongside his long-term assistant Billy Reid.

The reason that Celtic fans are concerned with this news is because Ange has made such an impact since arriving from Yokohama F Marinos in 2021. After two years, the Australian is on the brink of winning his fifth trophy, which would be a World Record Treble.

  1. The Daily Mail reports? Wouldn’t rely on that lot for any truthful rumours. Daniel Levy is a bit of cheapskate so he’ll probably opt for the cheapest option which will probably depend on Ange’s release clause.

The others are probably going to cost Levy more either in wages or up-front fees.
