Report: West Ham open talks for ex-Celtic winger Jota

Former Celtic winger Jota is reportedly attracting interest from West Ham United and two other Premier League sides. The Portuguese winger is on the fringes with Al Ittihad and is keen to return to Europe.

According to Talksport, the Hammers have opened talks with Jota’s representatives as they look to end his stay in Saudi. However, the report suggests that he is a striker that could replace the formidable force of Antonio in attack.

Jota has endured a torrid time since moving there after being ditched from the squad list for the league. There have been numerous links of him coming back to Celtic but so far, that doesn’t seem to be happening. With rumours about Liel Abada wanting away, Celtic could actually make a move for Jota to replicate the quality and replace the goals that he scored and created at Celtic.

In 83 appearances for Celtic, Jota has scored 28 goals and assisted 26 times. The Celtic supporters adore the Portuguese star and if there was a chance at a return then we’d happily welcome this.
