Mat Ryan has joined Real Sociedad on a two-year deal after an agreement was reached with Brighton & Hove Albion. The 29-year-old had been tipped for a move to Celtic and even suggested that he was open to a switch; however, no move was forthcoming, leaving Ryan free to join Sociedad. The player is believed to have signed for just £1m.

Celtic need to improve in a number of positions and the goalkeeping one is certainly one that requires immediate attention. Although, given the fee paid for Barkas, you would expect him to continue as club No.1. Celtic are pursuing Carl Starfelt and Brandon Soppy for a combined £8m as they look to bolster defensive options before looking at improving our depth in other positions, such as in attack.
