Reported Celtic transfer target completes £2m move to England

Kevin Nisbet has completed a £2m move from Hibernian to Millwall. The 26-year-old was close to making the move to London in the January transfer window but it fell through at the last moment with Nisebt opting to remain at Easter Road.

However, in an update today, it was confirmed that Nisbet would be moving to Millwall, despite the reported interest from Celtic earlier this year.

Reports have previously suggested that Celtic wew considering Nisbet with a view to making a move for the striker. The Scotland Internationalist is a Celtic supporter and would likely have been keen on moving to Glasgow’s East End. Recent reports suggest that Celtic’s recruitment team are working to ascertain whether Nisbet can cope with the demands of Celtic before launching a bid, even if Hibs were reluctant to discuss any deal. Clearly Celtic were unconvinced by the player as they haven’t made any suggestion that they would be rivalling the English club.

In 101 appearances for Hibs, Nisbet has 39 goals and 12 assists. It is likely that the deal will be complete for Nisbet and he will move to English football with the London club.

It appears that Celtic have passed up the opportunity to sign the player. They will be aware of his talents but given the fee involved, it is clear the Scottish Champions could’ve made an approach with relative ease.
