Reports: Celtic make £3m bid for Man City’s Paddy Roberts

PADDY ROBERTS seems to always be linked with Celtic since leaving the club after his first loan spell from Manchester City. He did eventually return for a second spell but supporters felt that a permanent move may be in the pipeline.

Manchester City, who shelled out an enormous fee for Roberts to Fulham in 2015 for £12m, were keen to see the value in Roberts in other markets. He was therefore sent to Girona, Norwich and Middlesbrough but injuries have curtailed his progress.

Reports today suggest that Celtic have moved once again to sign Roberts, this time on a permanent basis.

Team Talk are claiming that Celtic have made an approach for Roberts’ services but that Man City are unsure what they plan to do with the 23-year-old. The quoted fee of £3m would be a steal for Celtic and given Manchester City’s UEFA dispute, they may wanting to be seen to be selling players.

Roberts scored 18 goals in 79 appearances in Scotland and was very impressive under Brendan Rodgers in the Invincible season. He may be keen on a move to Celtic as it would give him the chance to settle, something he hasn’t had the opportunity to do since leaving Celtic.

Would you take Roberts back at Celtic?
