Reports Suggest Everton Are Scouting Odsonne Edouard

Reports from the Daily Mail suggest that Everton have sent delegates on a scouting mission to Celtic Park to watch Odsonne Edouard.

Everton scouts were spotted at Celtic Park for back to back matches, the league clash with Kilmarnock and the Europa League last 32 second leg versus Copenhagen. Edouard scored in both games, and showed he can handle the heat with a delightfully cheeky penalty to level the tie in the latter match. It was he who it is believed the Mersyside club staff were watching, though Celtic have began discussions with the French u21 international to extend his contract.

Edouard is currently enjoying his best season in front of goal, and has received equal praise for his lack of selfishness. The striker made a fine assist in midweek against Livingston, which saved the game for Celtic, when he beat his man and cooly cut back for Tom Rogic to score.

If Everton have been looking to sign the striker then they are unlikely to be anything other than impressed. That said, they would face stiff competition for his services and would need to pay top dollar – especially as Celtic close in on a historic ten in a row.
