Romano confirms Jullien move is off after yesterday’s medical

Fabrizio Romano has updated fans on the Christopher Jullien situation to say that the deal to take the player to Schalke is off.

Tweeting to his 9m following, the transfer expert confirmed that medicals had been completed but personal terms couldn’t be agreed, resulting in Jullien returning to a Celtic as they seek to move the player on.

After arriving for £7m from Toulouse in the summer of 2019, Jullien was a mainstay in the Quadruple Treble side before an injury in the December of 2020 put the brakes on his career. Ange Postecoglou’s arrival and his return to fitness saw limited game time on the park with a cameo against Raith Rovers all the Frenchman could show for the previous campaign.

The player has made 62 appearances in his time at Celtic, winning three trophies at his time at the club. Impressively, he scored ten goals in his time at the club, including that late winner over Lazio and then the Cup Final win over Rangers.
