Ross Doohan joins Dundee United on loan

Celtic goalkeeper Ross Doohan has joined Dundee United on an emergency loan. The Celtic fourth choice keeper had been at Ross County until January when he was recalled amidst the Dubai COVID-19 fiasco and now the 23-year-old has joined Micky Mellon’s side ahead of their Scottish Cup clash at Pittodrie against Stephen Glass’ Aberdeen.

Doohan and Conor Hazard have been tipped as being future Celtic No.1’s but both players need exposure playing regular football. Doohan has made 93 appearances at club level and will be hoping to build upon this figure at Tannadice as the season comes to an end. He will likely be hoping, along with Hazard, to get another loan move in the summer.

Currently Scott Bain is the No.1 with £4.5m acquisition Vasilis Barkas out of the first team picture. It is unclear who the next manager will be but whoever it is needs to address the Celtic defence as a matter of urgency. Elsewhere at United, the move has been made possible after Benji Siegrist picked up a fracture during the warm up in the Scottish Cup win over Forfar.

Good luck, Ross.
