Rumour Mill names the 13 Celtic players self-isolating as Sky Sports man questions decision to take injured player to Dubai

Celtic rumours are in over-drive at the moment since the news yesterday released by the club that there had been a Covid-19 positive result recorded after the ill-advised trip to Dubai.

Celtic released a further statement this afternoon confirming that as a result of this positive test – to injured star Christopher Jullien (who should NOT have been in Dubai anyway given his long term knee injury picked up in the game against Dundee Utd) – 13 first team players plus manager Neil Lennon and Assistant Manager John Kennedy are having to self-isolate.

Anthony Joseph from Sky Sports made the point very well earlier today: “I hope Christopher Jullien makes a speedy recovery. But questions will be asked about what he was doing on the Dubai trip, as he is out injured for four months. It’s not his fault. But the club have put him and others at unnecessary risk, as well as weakening the team on return.”

The game against Hibs this evening will ahead with Gavin Strachan having to sacrifice his iPad to manage a makeshift side. He’ll have to get used to it because he’ll also be taking the team for the double header against in-form Livingston.

Celtic need 9 points from these games – the entire point of the trip to Dubai – but the chances of that happening seems much more remote now given the shambles that has unfolded.

Anyway the rumour on players who are having to self-isolate are listed below (there are alternative rumours).

This particular rumour is highly unlikely to be accurate* but if it is then Strachan should be able to get a half decent side out this evening.

Are Celtic not telling us the names so that they can keep Hibs guessing?

*The guys at the Cynic are saying that this list is fake.
