Scotland v Czech Republic: Christie starts, McGregor benched

Here’s the Scotland team for today’s European Championship Group stage match at Hampden against Czech Republic…

Ryan Christie is the only Celtic starter, although you could technically add Jack Hendry to that, while Callum McGregor has to settle for a place on the bench alongside Greg Taylor, David Turnbull and James Forrest.

There are plenty of former Celts in the starting eleven – David Marshall in goals, Andy Robertson the captain and Stuart Armstrong (somewhat surprisingly) all start. And on the bench the former Bhoy is Craig Gordon.

Kieran Tierney misses out today due o a minor muscle strain but is in contention for the next match against England on Friday evening at Wembley.

Scotland’s long wait for a competitive game, dating back to the World Cup in France in 1998, is out to come to an end.

The game kicks off at 2pm and is live on BBC1.

We’ll cover the Scotland matches on The Celtic Star over the next few weeks, hopefully longer!

Come on Scotland! Prediction Scotland 1 Czech Republic 0.
