Scotland’s Shame – Assistant Referee suffers head wound after missile thrown from Rangers crowd

THE ASSISTANT referee in today’s Livingston v Rangers Premiership match has had suffered a injury to the back of his head after being hit by an object thrown from the Rangers supporters behind him.

The assistant referee saw no problem in the Livi player shepherding the ball out for a goal kick as Rangers player attempted to keep the ball in play. Seconds later the Assistant Ref signalled to referee Craig Thomson that he was in need of medical attention and the play was stopped.

This is the latest shameful behaviour involving Rangers supporters this season which has seen racial abuse at directed at innocent children, two Croatian fans stabbed outside Ibrox, a running battle with Wigan supporters in Glasgow City Centre among other incidents.
