Later this evening we will learn who we face in the next round of the Scottish cup as we pursue a domestic treble. The draw takes place after tonight’s Dundee Derby, the last fourth round match and will be live on Premier Sports, at the back of 10pm.

Team’s joining Celtic in the draw

For the first time in a while there will be zero non league sides in the hat for this stage of the draw, although the lower leagues will be represented by league two outfit Cove Rangers, while championship sides Ayr United, Airdrie, Dunfermline, Hamilton, Livingston, Raith Rovers and Queen’s Park are also in the hat.

Our rival Premiership sides Hearts, Hibs, Aberdeen, St Mirren, St Johnstone, theRangers, and the winner of tonight’s Dundee derby make up the remainder of the draw.

‘Luck of the draw’

It would of course be nice for Celtic to get another home draw against any opponent to be honest as we shouldn’t fear anyone. History perhaps suggests it will most likely be a tough away fixture we will have to negotiate if we are to advance to the quarter finals.

After all ‘it’s the ‘luck of the draw’ so we will just get on with it as we always do whoever we are drawn against. Let’s see what this evening brings. Then we can park it for now and turn our full focus towards beating BSC Young Boys in the Champions League on Wednesday night. Two more sleeps!

  1. That’s a given with ourselves getting the tough away draw, and the scum a handy home one.
Surely such a conspiracy couldn’t still exist within Scottish football still?
