Sead Hakšabanović wins Goal of the Month

Sead Hakšabanović has won Goal of the Month for March with his stunning effort against Heart of Midlothian at Celtic Park the choice of the supporters. The Montenegrin has been chipping in with some crucial goals at points throughout this campaign and will be delighted to have been recognised in this month’s competition.

It was a great goal and a manifestation of the wonderful feet and footballing skill he has at his disposal. Mostly impacting games from the bench, he has been a vital weapon in Ange Postecoglou’s arsenal this season, thanks to his ability to have enact meaningful change on the pitch whenever he is introduced.

No doubt he, like everyone else, will be bitterly disappointed at how Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Motherwell panned out. It was a rare fame where we looked miles off the pace and worlds away from our normal levels of performance. With Jota and Liel Abada injured, Sead was in from the beginning but failed to have any real say in the outcome of the game.

However, he will be aware that it is just a minor blip and he has the potential to pull of strikes like this….

We’ll need him to put on a display more akin to that than his Motherwell game if he gets the nod from Ange Postecoglou once again this coming Sunday against theRangers at Hampden Park in the Scottish Cup Semi-final. It promises to be an historic day for the Montenegrin and his teammates, as they have the chance to keep their Treble dreams alive and book their place in another domestic Cup Final.

Let’s hope he regains his shooting boots for that one!

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
