Serie A clubs consider move for standout Celtic defender

Celtic defender Auston Trusty is attracting interest from Italy thanks to fine defensive displays in the Hoops. The USA Internationalist scored in the last two UEFA Europa League games as Celtic secured their place in the Playoffs.

According to Record Sport, Fiorentina and Lazio are considering mounting a bid for Trusty.

The report states that both could make a late bid but Celtic are prepared to reject any advances for the lofty defender.

The 27-year-old was sent off at the weekend in controversial circumstances after John Beaton on VAR intervened to assist overturning the onfield decision. Trusty will now sit out the game tomorrow afternoon against Falkirk with Dane Murray expected to come in and partner Liam Scales.

Celtic are needing to add another central defender to their ranks and losing Trusty, who has been excellent under legendary boss O’Neill. Jahmai Simpson-Pusey failed to make a mark after a short loan from Man City before returning to the Premier League giants ahead of a further loan to Germany.
