Sevilla terminate Kelechi Iheanacho‘s contract amid Celtic interest

Sevilla have terminated the contract of Celtic transfer target Kelechi Iheanacho. The Nigerian striker has emerged as a Celtic target this evening as the club scramble to replace Adam Idah, who completed a £7m switch to Swansea City earlier today.

In an update, the Spanish side have said they have reached an agreement to terminate the contract of the ex-Man City attacker. This will aid Celtic in their attempts to sign the player but it does strike of desperation from Celtic as they look to do their business in the closing stages of the window despite months to prepare.

Anthony Joseph of Sky Sports confirmed that Celtic were in talks with the player and that the termination could pave the way to a permanent switch to Celtic.

Celtic now do not need to sign the player this evening but it would certainly help mend some fences with the support if they got a deal over the line today.
