SFA’s ‘Free Kick’ Pass to Morelos – You reap what he sow, Mr Lawwell

THE decision today by the SFA to take no further action against Rangers thug Alfredo Morelos may be shocking but it is not surprising. After all in September last year the SFA managed to come to the conclusion that the Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor should escape punishment for his assault in Kristoffer Ajer at Celtic Park.

Their special panel of un-named former referees met and only two from three reckoned that McGregor should have been red carded, the third believing his kick-out at a player lying on the ground, merited a yellow. Therefore the SFA decided that no action would be taken against McGregor.

On 29 December Morelos kicked, punched an assaulted Celtic players though out the match, under the watchful eye of Rangers supporting referee John Beaton. Now the SFA Compliance Officer Clare Whyte has returned from her festive break to confirm that Beaton aw all the incidents and was happy not to issue any cards whatsoever.

Whyte therefore can take no further action against the Rangers striker.

Former Celtic star Chris Sutton, now a pundit with BT Sport, took to social media to make his feelings on the news coming out of the SFA clear.

“Only in Scotland… This is shambolic… Kick and stamp and get let off… buffoonery of the highest order from the SFA…”

On 31 December Peter Lawwell was paid a bonus of over £2million by Celtic, while he stands aside and allows this fraudulent Frankenstein club to cheat -on and off the park. Lawwell’s performance on Resolution 12 has been nothing short of a disgrace and his reluctance to accept the responsibility to stand up to what was a fraudulent activity in 2011 that deprived Celtic of around £30million in shameful.

Many Celtic fans have moved on from that period, as Lawwell expected that they would and now we are faced with assaults of Celtic players on the park that the SFA will not punish.

What other club would stay silent in these circumstances?

Add to that the performance of Willie Collum at Pittodrie – remember this is the referee who the Monster club has deemed to be unsuitable to referee their games due to issues in his background (code for religion).

Collum was so desperate to appease them on his next meaningful outing that he awarded two spoof penalties to Aberdeen, failed to send off Niall McGinn from a reckless two footed challenge on Ryan Christie and allowed a late Aberdeen goal to stand despite watching a clear foul on Craig Gordon in the Celtic goal.

We have moved beyond the era of the Honest Mistake. They are emboldened, their referees are compliant and the governing body toothless, feart of standing up to the Devil.

Mr Lawwell, you reap what you sow. You allowed this to happen.

Maybe it is time we had someone leading our club prepared to stand up for our club.
