Six Celts in Scotland Squad but ‘Why is there no Rangers players included?’

ALEX McLEISH has included 6 Celtic stars* in his squad for the opening two Euro Qualifiers against Kazakhstan and San Marino.

Scott Bain, Kieran Tierney, Callum McGregor (who is currently injured!), Oli Burke (on loan from West Brom) and James Forrest are all included as is Lewis Morgan who is currently on loan at Sunderland from Celtic.

There is no place for Craig Gordon and with Allan McGregor now retired from international football it seems certain that Scott Bain will be the new Scotland No.1 – as we told you last night on The Celtic Star.

Two other Celts are notable by their absence – Ryan Christie is not included and that must mean that he’s not going to be back from injury in time to make these Scotland games and Jack Hendry drops out presumably due to lack of game time at Celtic this year.

Aberdeen’s central defender Scott McKenna – who is linked with a move to Celtic in the summer – is included, as is former Celtic star Stuart Armstrong and former Hoops target John McGinn.

The nearest the Ibrox club have to a player in this squad is Hamburg defender David Bates, who joined the German side from the Ibrox outfit. Here is the full squad…

*Including players on loan or out on loan.
