Anthony Joseph has reported on Sky Sports News a brief update on what’s actually happening in Celtic’s pursuit of a new manager to replace Brendan Rodgers after his shock resignation at the end of last month…

He reports that Celtic have been holding talks in London this week with various targets as the search for the next Celtic manager intensifies.
Joseph reminds us that Sky Sports revealed on Monday that Celtic had drawn up their shortlist and are now at the next stage, while at the same time there’s also a sit down with Martin O’Neill and Shaun Maloney, the interim team who stepped in the handle the team in the past four matches.
And MON and Shaun have reached a cup final after beating theRangers in semi-final and cut Hearts’ lead by four points with two league wins over Falkirk and Kilmarnock. Not bad at all.

“Columbus Crew boss Wilfried Nancy, Bodo/Glimt’s Kjetil Knutsen and Ipswich Town head coach Kieran McKenna are believed to be among the names the club are considering,” Anthony Joseph reports. He added: “Also among the names on Celtic’s radar is Wales boss Craig Bellamy, Club Brugge’s Nicky Hayen and Ferencvaros manager Robbie Keane.”

“The Celtic hierarchy are also due to sit down with interim boss Martin O’Neill and assistant Shaun Maloney to discuss their futures beyond the current international break.”
Whether O’Neill and Maloney are contenders remains to be seem but they may have a role in seeing Celtic through to the start of the New Year.
