ANTHONY JOSEPH has been at the centre of many of Celtic’s transfer deals this summer as the supporter and Sky Sports News journalist keeps supporters updated about the incomings for the Scottish Champions. Charlton have already knocked back two bids for Alfie Doughty and as Celtic ready themselves to submit a £800k offer, Joseph revealed a stumbling block to any potential deal.
Taking to Twitter, Joseph confirmed that the stumbling block to Celtic’s pursuit of the versatile 20-year-old would be that the club is currently the subject of a takeover process.
An appeal hearing is due to take place on Thursday, on whether there will be an injunction over the sale of the London club.

This could scupper their ability to sell and buy players, such is the nature of the injunction. Celtic meanwhile will have to try and get the deal done shortly before there is an injunction in place.
Doughty’s contract expires next summer, leaving him free to sign a pre-contract agreement in January. Whilst it is clear that Lennon wants his man, there may be other options to explore in the meantime as Celtic look to replace Bolingoli.
