Souza Alert – PSV look to have won the race for Brazilian star

News has broken that Celtic target Vinicius Souza is on the brink of signing for PSV Eindhoven. This comes just as Ange Postecoglou and Michael Nicholson gave the young midfielder an ultimatum on his decision on whether or not to join the Champions of Scotland this summer. It now looks like he will be plying his trade in the Eredivisie this forthcoming season.

According to a report in the Scottish Daily Express, the Lommel man will link-up with former Manchester United and Holland legend Ruud van Nistelrooy as he continues his footballing development. The admittedly often unreliable mainstream media outlet claim that Souza had indicated to his representatives that the Netherlands is his preferred destination ahead of the like of Celtic, Fenerbache and Spanish cracks Espanyol and Real Betis.

At this moment in time it is still unclear as to what the details of the proposed move to Eindhoven are, with the City Group maintaining they do not wish to sell the player outright, looking for a year-long loan deal. That was the offers put forward by both Spanish club’s yesterday but now it appears that Vinicius has decided he wishes to pursue the interest in him by PSV. He will meet up with the club at their training base in Germany as he looks to finalise the paperwork and finer details on the proposed move.

It will be a an opportunity for someone else to make their name in the famous green and white hoops of Glasgow Celtic – as if we’re being honest, I don’t think the player was all that keen on a move to the East End. That’s all fine. We move onto the next target for what is a priority position for Ange and the club this summer transfer window.
