StreamDigital selling £12.99 PPV for Celtic v Livingston next midweek

Motherwell FC were first to take advantage of the new arrangement that the SPFL negotiated with Sky Sports to allow certain matches that are not being shown on the subscription broadcaster to be made available by PPV.

So Celtic’s visit to Fir Park on Wednesday 9 November allowed Motherwell to screen the match via their own TV  channel with a large number of Celtic fans who were unable too get tickets for the match happy to sign up and pay to see the game. The service worked well for the supporters and also Motherwell who received a welcome financial boost from the initiative.

Now Celtic are going to benefit with the home game against Livingston on Wednesday 21 December with a  7.45 pm kick-off is going to be shown in Britain and Ireland via a PPV service from Stream Digital. You can watch the match for a fee of £12.99 from the comfort of your own armchair while 60,000 of us shiver – in the electric atmosphere – at Celtic Park.

Tickets for this game are sold out so this is the only way to see the game live if you are in Britain or Ireland. This should NOT be confused with the usual service from Celtic TV which will show the game live as usual for subscribers outside the Britain and Ireland and will provide an audio only service for those listening from Britain and Ireland.

You can purchase your game-pass next for The Celtic v Livingston Scottish Premiership match taking place next Wednesday night HERE and there’s more details and FAQs available via the official Celtic website HERE.

Incidentally this service is only happening because of the new SPFL deal with Sky Sports, you remember the one, where theRangers did all the could to stop it happening due to their fall-out with the SPFL over an entirely separate matter (their dispute regarding cinch sponsorship). How long will it take before they are taking advantage of this opportunity themselves to show matches from Ibrox.

Try the first chance that they get for the correct answer.

Meanwhile with the postal service back tomorrow tonight would be a good time to order a copy of The Celtic Rising ~ 1965: The Year Jock Stein Changed Everything. Then we’ll post a copy signed by the author David Potter to you in the morning using first class post.
