Tannadice is win or bust, Wilfried – Defeat means curtains for Nancy

Tonight Celtic travel to Tayside to take on Dundee United in what is sure to be a difficult match against Jim Godwin’s men, especially with our current on and off field woes…

After three straight defeats in three different competitions, it’s not a stretch to say that tonight’s game is one of our most important of the campaign, a defining one in more ways than one.

Indeed I’d go as far as to say that it’s one that could prove to be the tipping point as far as the future of Wilfried Nancy is concerned, with many Celtic supporters already having made their minds up. Many more will be joining that camp this evening if Nancy can’t find a way to win.

To many Celtic supporters the Frenchman looks so far out of his depth it’s frightening.

We ridiculed theRangers when they had Russell Martin, and it looks very much like we have our own version in the Celtic Park dugout. Indeed Nancy is looking an even worse fit at Celtic than Martin was at theRangers.

If he’s not using cringey quotes, he’s managed to dislodge the spine of a successful side with his baffling tactics, and destroying the confidence and harmony we have held for so long, something that Martin O’Neill fought so hard to rediscover after the departure of Brendan Rodgers.

We very much look like a mid-table side such is our woeful state of affairs on the park, and that is all down to the Frenchman’s stubbornness in trying to completely overhaul a successful well drilled side under Martin O’Neill and Shaun Maloney. After Nancy’s Celtic threw it away against Hearts, then they were embarrassed by Roma at Celtic Park and finally were well beaten by St Mirren in the Premier Sports Cup Final at Hampden on Sunday.

No Celtic supporter reckons Celtic deserved to win the cup final and that’s down to Wilfried Nancy.

Dundee United have been inconsistent this campaign, but will surely fancy their chances against this fragile, confidence shot to pieces Celtic side. Their manager Jim Goodwin was working as a pundit at Hampden on Sunday and undoubtedly will look to exploit Celtic’s madcap system under Nancy, just as St Mirren did so emphatically at the weekend.

A few weeks ago I’d have fancied Celtic’s chances going Tannadice, but like any other Celtic supporter, tonight is a game that is giving me the extreme the absolute fear. Not only do we have to win to keep the pressure on Hearts and enhance our title chances, we need to win to stop the current rot.

Failure to get all three points would be catastrophic, and I struggle to see how Nancy survives, especially if it’s a defeat.

Nancy’s only chance is The Celtic Board HATE to admit any mistakes of their own. They have already blamed Brendan Rodgers. Then it was the Green Brigade’s fault.

Then it was the Celtic Fan media, they’ve even sanctioned the few Celtic women’s fan media and as a result the fans of the women’s team have started to campaign against the Board, with Sack The Board flags on display at the weekend.

But ultimately this Celtic Board are past-masters of self preservation so expect Paul Tisdale to be hung out to dry quickly followed by Wilfried Nancy, then the’ll claim all the credit going for bringing Martin O’Neill and Shaun Maloney back.
