Team’s Up – Bernabei and Jullien start against SC Wiener Viktoria

Celtic are back and the first Team’s Up headline of the new season appears here on The Celtic Star…

SC Wiener Viktoria are the hosts as Celtic get back to business for year two of the Ange Postecoglou revolution.

Joe Hart gets the honour of captaining the side and the back four are Urhoghide, Jullien, Lawal and Bernabei – two big stories there. Christopher Jullien gets his chance at long last to show Ange what he can do and there’s a debut for our Argentinian summer signing.

The midfield is interesting too, Ideguchi and McCarthy play and both will want to have much more significant contributions this season compared to last, and Reo Hatate also plays. He too reckons he has even more to offer Celtic than he’s so far delivered. We reckoned he did fine incidentally.

The front three have a similar theme going on. James Forrest and Mikey Johnston had injury hit seasons and will want to impress the boss while Irish striker Kenny leads the line.

The Subs goalies are Ben Siegrist and Tobi Oluwayemi and the outfield subs are mostly from the Celtic B: Dede, Anderson, Shaw, Summers, Vata, Ajeti and Moffat. Note the inclusion of Albian Ajeti who may get some match-time as a shop window exercise.

Kick-off at 5.30pm Celtic Park time.
