Team’s Up – Brendan names makeshift defence for Wolves clash

Brendan Rodgers is back in Ireland with Celtic to take on Wolves. The Irishman last brought Celtic to the Aviva Stadium in 2016 for games against Inter and Barca but he faces a seasoned Premier League opposition today.

Joe Hart starts in goals. The Englishman will be keen to put on a show for the manager, especially with rumours that Celtic are looking to bring in another GK.

In defence, Tomoki Iwata starts at right back, Liam Scales joins Stephen Welsh at centre back. Greg Taylor is the only ‘first pick’ member of the defence to feature.

In midfield, Rodgers goes with the skipper Callum McGregor, Reo Hatate and Matt O’Riley.

In attack, Liel Abada is on the right, Daizen Maeda on the left and Kyogo is through the middle.

Subs: Bain, Siegrist, Haksabanovic, Yang, Oh, Turnbull, Holm, Kwon, Bernabei, Lawal, Forrest and McPherson.

It will be of some concern that Starfelt is absent given the absences of Johnson, Ralston and Carter-Vickers as well as new signing Nawrocki.
