Team’s Up – Celtic duo start vs Norway, Jacob Brown preferred to Shankland

Steve Clarke has named his Scotland side for this evening’s game against Norway. After a 2-2 draw against Georgia in Tbilisi, the manager has made four changes from the team Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland NOT selected but instead Luton forward Jacob Brown gets the nod.

The former Kilmarnock manager has decided to go with a back five once again with Callum McGregor and Greg Taylor continuing in the side.

The Hearts keeper Zander Clark has retained the gloves while the back five of Nathan Patterson, Jack Hendry, Scott McKenna, Scott McTominay and Celtic’s Greg Taylor keeps things consistent from Thursday night.

In the middle of the park John McGinn has the armband and plays alongside Kenny McLean, Stuart Armstrong and the Celtic captain Callum McGregor.

The Scotland captain for the night looks like playing just behind the striker who is Luton’s Jacob Brown.

On the bench for Scotland this evening, Robby McCrorie and Liam Kelly (keepers) and they are joined by Celtic’s Anthony Ralston, Josh Doig, Liam Cooper, Lyndon Dykes, Lawrence Shankland, Ryan Christie, Billy Gilmour, Lewis Ferguson and Ryan Jack.

But the biggest surprise looks like the Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland being overlooked for a starting spot after his excellent goal rescued a point on Thursday night. Shankland will surely get given at least half an hour this evening in what is effectively a dead rubber as Scotland have already secured the qualification play alongside Spain for Euro2024 in Germany next summer.

Kick-off is fast approaching at 7.45pm.

Best of luck to Scotland and especially our Celtic Bhoys…
