Team’s Up – David Turnbull starts, Hatate on bench

Ange Postecoglou has named his Celtic team to take on St Mirren at Celtic Park this afternoon in the fifth round of the Scottish Cup.

The Celtic manager took a wee break from media duties this week with his Assistant John Kennedy standing in and handling the questions put to him perfectly well, with The Celtic Star asking him and the problems with the pitch at Celtic Park and also on the central defence partnership of Cameron Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfelt who are both in today’s starting eleven.

Today’s Celtic team has Joe Hart in goals and a back four of Alistair Johnston, CCV, Starfelt and Greg Taylor.

Callum McGregor leads the side from that number 6 role and he is joined in the Celtic midfield by the outstanding Aaron Mooy, who is joined by David Turnbull.

Jota and Daizen Maeda are on the wings and likely to interchange positions and Kyogo will be hungry for goals leading the line.

Both Ange Postecoglou and John Kennedy will be in the Celtic dug-out and they will be joined by today’s substitutes.

So Today’s Celtic team is as follows:

Joe Hart, Alistair Johnston, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Carl Starfelt, Greg Taylor; Callum McGregor (C), Aaron Mooy, David Turnbull; Jota, Kyogo, Daizen Maeda.

On the bench for Celtic today are Scott Bain, Yuki Kobayashi, Reo Hatate, Tomoki Iwata, Matt O’Riley, James Forrest, Oh, Liel Abada, Sead Hakšabanović.

Kick-off is at 5.30pm, if you’re at the game make plenty of noise for the Bhoys and if you’re watching on television sit back and hopefully enjoy watching Glasgow Celtic putting on a show…
