Team’s Up – Edouard and Klimala start up front in Kennedy’s first team

John Kennedy has named his first team as interim boss since taking over from Neil Lennon during the week. The 37-year-old takes the team for the first time versus Aberdeen this afternoon as Celtic look to bring some respectability back to this season.

In goals, Kennedy has decided to continue with Scott Bain in goals. There were hopes that Vasilis Barkas may be given the gloves, hoping that the change in management may see an upturn in the Greek Internationalists form. However, Bain continues in nets.

In defence, Jonjoe Kenny plays at right back, the central pair are made up of Kris Ajer & Stephen Welsh. Diego Laxalt starts at left back, replacing the injured Greg Taylor.

In midfield, captain Scott Brown starts with Callum McGregor, Ryan Christie and David Turnbull making up a midfield diamond.

In attack, talisman Odsonne Edouard is partnered with Polish U21 striker Patryk Klimala.

On the bench: Hazard, Duffy, Griffiths, Ajeti, Soro, Elyounoussi, Henderson, Montgomery & Ralston.

Celtic will be looking to bounce back from the embarrassing defeat to Ross County at Dingwall on Sunday. Kennedy was expected to bring through a few younger players but he has opted not to change too much with the team, playing a striker up with Edouard as opposed to another midfielder as Lennon preferred.

Hopefully Celtic can restore some pride with a resounding victory today.

Come on Celtic!
