Team’s Up – Inamura and Shin start, Maeda on bench

Brendan Rodgers has named his Celtic team for this afternoon’s Scottish Premiership clash with Livingston. The Scottish Champions host the newly promoted Livi, who sit third in the table after a win and a draw.

Livi will relish the chance to come to Celtic Park and defend, especially after Kairat Almaty held Celtic to a draw in the UCL Playoff. Celtic are without a number of players through injuries as well as the manager opting to rest some stars given the trip to Kazakhstan.

Surprisingly, Brendan has named Inamura in the team despite stating that the Japanese defender wasn’t quite at the level required. It is a makeshift back line and forward line given injuries to Adam Idah, Auston Trusty, Alistair Johnston and a knock to Daizen Maeda, who makes the bench.

Kasper Schmeichel starts in goals.

In defence, Inamura starts at left back and Tony Ralston comes into right back. Dane Murray starts alongside Liam Scales, who captains the side this afternoon.

In midfield, Paulo Bernardo starts alongside Luke McCowan and Arne Engels.

In attack, Shin Yamada starts through the middle with Benji Nygren on the right and Yang on the left.

Subs: Sinisalo, CCV, Kenny, Maeda, Forrest, Hatate, McGregor, Donovan, Tierney.

Interesting team, nice to see a bit of freshening up, it’s long overdue. Surprised young Pusey isn’t in the squad, would like to have seen him, not sure why he’s here, on loan, if he isn’t going to play, especially at home, against an opponent we should really beat.
