Team’s Up – Jacynta starts, ‘goal-machine’ Flint gets Celtic debut

CELTIC FC WOMEN take on theRangers at The Excelsior Stadium in Airdrie and the match is live on BBC Alba with a 7pm kick-off. And if you are a Celtic TV subscriber based outside of Britain and Ireland then you can also watch the game live.

In what is a three-way battle for the SWPL1 title, Celtic will hit top spot this evening with a victory and will stretch the points advantage over current Champions theRangers to four points.  Fran Alonso told The Celtic Star earlier this week that he’s going to go for it this evening with an attacking side and an aggressive approach to take the match to the visitors.

And the great news is that Australian playmaker Jacynta, currently Celtic’s Player of the Year, makes the starting eleven less than two weeks after being photographed with her leg in a moon-boot. And the good news continues for the Celtic fans in the stadium or watching on television with Natasha Flint, starting up top. The  Leicester City striker joined Celtic on loan in the January transfer window and is knows as ‘the goal machine’ down south.

Fran Alonso reckons that she is the best finisher he’s had at the club and that’s quite a thought given Charlie Wellings got 40 goals in her season wearing the Hoops. Watch out for Flint this evening. And with Amy Gallacher and Menglu both starting Celtic are going to be strong down the wings, through the middle and in the number 10 position.

The starting eleven is Tajonar, O’Riordan, Ross, Gallacher, Jacynta, Chance, Clark (c), Kerner, Hayes, Flint and Menglu and that is just about as strong a Celtic team as it’s possible for Fran Alonso to field.

On the bench there’s quality too with Robertson, Otto, Shen, Fergusson, Bowie, Goldie, Cusack, McAneny and Ferns.

Get BBC ALBA  on, kick-off is at 7pm.
