Team’s Up – just one Celt in Steve Clarke’s Scotland side

Callum McGregor is the only Celt to start in Steve Clarke’s Scotland side for the must-win fixture against minnows, Faroe Islands. Clarke has opted to go with the Celtic midfielder as he looks to capitalise on the fixture and build a healthy goal difference. With that in mind, Clarke has named an attacking line up.

In goals, former Celtic stopper Craig Gordon is given the gloves.

Scott McTominay on the right of the three-man a backline with another former Celt, Kieran Tierney in the backline. Norwich skipper Grant Hanley makes up the three in the middle.
Andy Robertson captains the team in a left wing back role with Ryan Fraser starting at right wingback as Clarke names an attacking side.

In midfield, McGregor plays with Kenny MacLean of Norwich and John McGinn of Aston Villa.

In attack, Lyndon Dykes plays with Che Adams as Scotland look to record their first win of the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers.

There is no place in the starting XI for Ryan Christie, who has been one fo Scotland’s standouts in recent times with Clarke electing to shuffle the pack.

On the bench: Marshall, McLaughlin, Hendry, O’Donnell, Armstrong, Christie, Fleck, Gallagher, McKenna, Nisbet, McBurnie and Palmer.
