Team’s Up – Larisey Missing, Jacynta and Otto Return

Fran Alonso has named his first starting eleven of 2023 for the Scottish Cup tie away to Falkirk which kicks off at 12.30pm. The stand-out talking point is the absence of top scorer Clarissa Larisey. The Canadian international striker picked up a knock on 4 December that forced her off at the internal in the match against Dundee United but afterwards the Celtic manager confirmed to The Celtic Star that it was nothing serious.

And at his Media Conference earlier this week Fran stated that there were no new injury worries and he also told this site that he was looking at perhaps one or maybe two players leaving in this transfer window with up to three coming in.

Losing Larisey, easily the best player in Scottish football this season, would be a huge blow, so let’s hope that that is not the case and there’s another explanation for his absence from the squad today.

Pam Tajonar is in goals and the back three looks like being Claire O’Riordan, Kelly Clark and Caitlin Hayes. In midfield Celtic have Shen, Taylor Otto, Natalie Ross, Liv Chance and Amy Gallacher and the front two are Liz Fergusson and Jacynta.

On the bench for Celtic are Robertson, Craig, Bowie, Menglu, Cusack, Marwaha and McAnemy.

Many of the younger stars in the squad are going to be playing in the Under 18s Cup Final against Glasgow City later this afternoon.

COYGIG in both matches…
