Brendan Rodgers has named his Celtic team for this afternoon’s Cinch Premiership clash against Rangers. The Scottish Champions are at Ibrox for a top of the table clash with the game having potential ramifications for where the title ends up next month.
In goals, Joe Hart starts. The Englishman will understand the importance of this fixture and given his proximity towards retirement, the former Man City keeper will be keen for a win that can push Celtic towards a title.
In defence, Cameron Carter-Vickers starts with Liam Scales in the central pairing with Alistair Johnston and Greg Taylor in the fullback berths.
In midfield, the manager has decided against risking Callum McGregor with Tomoki Iwata being named in the holding role. The Celtic skipper will be looking to influence the game from the bench. Iwata will be joined by Matt O’Riley and Reo Hatate in the midfield three.
In attack, Kyogo starts through the middle with Daizen Maeda and Nicolas Kühn in the wide areas.
On the bench: Scott Bain, Maik Nawrocki, Stephen Welsh, Anthony Ralston, Callum McGregor, Paulo Bernardo, James Forrest, Yang, Adam Idah.
The team were waved off from Celtic Park yesterday as thousands attended to show the manager and the players support ahead of the clash on enemy turf.
The game kicks off at 12 Noon and will be shown on Sky Sports Football and Sky Sports Main Event with build up starting at 11am.
