Team’s Up – McGregor starts, Ralston and Turnbull on the bench

Callum McGregor is the only Celtic player named in Steve Clarke’s Scotland side taking on Denmark at Hampden Park this evening in the final match in the World Cup qualifiers. Denmark are already assured top spot and Scotland are guaranteed the play-off spot but are looking for at least a draw that will guarantee a seeded play-off spot next March.

The Great Danes have a 100% win record in the group and can complete a perfect campaign if they can beat Scotland at Hampden.

With Patterson suspended after picking up a booking he’d never have received playing for his club side, many thought that Anthony Ralston would go from emergency call-up straight into the team, but Clarke prefers Motherwell man Steven O’Donnell to Ralston who will therefore be on the bench alongside David Turnbull.

Former Celtic player Craig Gordon is in goals, and the back three is John Souttar, Liam Cooper and ex-Celt Kieran Tierney. Andy Robertson is the left wing-back while O’Donnell plays on the right. In midfield Celtic Captain Callum McGregor is joined by John McGinn and Billy Gilmour with former Celt Ryan Christie and Che Adams up top.

Goalie Subs are Zander Clark, Jon McLaughlin and the outfield bus are Anthony Ralston, Ryan Porteous, Scott McKenna, Stuart Armstrong, David Turnbull, Kevin Nisbet, Lewis Ferguson, Jacob Brown and Kenny McLean.

Kick-off is at 7.45pm and remember Scotland will be delighted with a draw!
