Team’s Up – Nancy names Celtic team for Glasgow Derby

Celtic manager Wilfried Nancy has named his team for this afternoon’s Scottish Premiership clash against Rangers. The Frenchman launched an astonishing defence at yesterday’s press conference, in which he asked for time. Unfortunately for Nancy, he doesn’t have time and requires to get results immediately after an appalling start.

Today, Danny Röhl’s Rangers are in Glasgow’s East End for the second league meeting between the sides. Russell Martin and Brendan Rodgers oversaw a drab 0-0 draw at Ibrox then they met at Hampden with Martin O’Neill winning against Röhl’s side.

Nancy has continued with his 3-4-3 formation and new signing Araujo comes into the squad but is only on the bench.

Kasper Schmeichel starts in goals. The Dane will be looking to atone for some errors in recent weeks and put in a strong showing between the sticks.

In defence, Tony Ralston starts with Auston Trusty and Kieran Tierney.

In midfield, Callum McGregor captains the side with Arne Engels. Yang is on the right with Luke McCowan on the left.

Johnny Kenny leads the line with Daizen Maeda and Benji Nygren playing off the striker.

Subs: Sinisalo, Scales, Shin, Araujo, Bernardo, Hatate, Murray, Forrest, Donovan.

  1. Just seen the team and am totally deflated. How can he just repeat the same failed personnel and system. How can players in a squad remain positive, when off form guys still get selected. 🤮

  2. That’s a team asking for a skelping!!
This guy hasn’t a clue, he has to be the only person on the planet that can’t see that Celtic are not equipped for the formation he wants to play! Rangers will walk through that defence and their defence could play in their slippers playing up against this Celtic frontline! I fear for the Celtic support today.
