Team’s Up – No Charlie Wellings, so Jacynta and Larisey tasked with hurting the Rangers

Fitness worry Charlie Wellings has failed to make the line-up for Fran Alonso’s Celtic side taking on theRangers in the Scottish Cup this afternoon. The top goalscorer was risked on Thursday night against Glasgow City but it was a gamble that back-fired with the goal a game striker well short of her lethal best and clearly struggling with her injury.

Warrior Chloe Craig though makes it despite being the victim of THAT tackle on Thursday which the referee deemed to be no more than a free-kick. Remarkable really. Chloe Logan as expected is out and could be sidelined for a considerable period after and awkward twist of her knee while playing her usual sweeper-keeper role. Rachael Johnstone has the gloves this afternoon and is a competent keeper.

Irish international Tyler Toland comes into the side today after dropping to the bench on Thursday. She’s play the number 6 role sitting in front of the central defence.

It’s a big day for Jacynta and Clarissa Larisey both highly skilled players who looked out of sorts in Thursday. Both are potential match winners For Celtic this afternoon.

Skipper Kelly Clark also drops to the bench in a tactical move from Alonso.

So the Celtic side is Johnstone, Craig (c), Hayes, Shorts, Bowie, Toland, Chance, Bartle, Jacynta, Larisey and Harkes.

Subs are Shen, Clark, Atkinson, Gros, Ferguson, Warrington and Timoney.

Kick-off is at 1pm and the match is live on Pass to Paradise, You Tube, Facebook and TikTok.
