Team’s Up – O’Dea and McManus name Celtic B Starting XI

Celtic B managers Darren O’Dea and Stephen McManus have named their team for this afternoon’s Scottish Lowland League clash against Tranent. The young Celts are in Airdrie for the game as they look record three points against the side that are ahead of them in the table.

Hopefully the young Celts can secure the victory and look to improve upon their league position. There has been some criticism for the set-up in the Lowland League involving Celtic and Hearts, with Rangers having pulled out. Young players like Bosun Lawal have played in the B Team and then progressed to loan deals, where they have thrived, suggesting that the system is working.

The team doesn’t include Daniel Kelly or Rocco Vata, who will be looking to be involved with Brendan Rodgers’ first team side when they host Livingston in the Scottish Cup Quarter Final tomorrow. Rodgers, who is yet to be beaten in the competition, will have aspirations to make it three Scottish Cups in a row.
