Brendan Rodgers has named his Celtic team for this evening’s UEFA Champions League opener against Slovan Bratislava. The Scottish Champions kick off the new look UCL at home to the visitors from Slovakia, who had to negotiate four qualifying rounds.
The Celtic manager has named the same team that beat Hearts at the weekend as he targets an opening night three points.
In goals, Kasper Schmeichel starts.
In defence, Cameron Carter-Vickers starts beside Liam Scales in the central pairing. Alistair Johnston and Greg Taylor start in the fullback berths.
In midfield, Callum McGregor starts alongside Arne Engels and Reo Hatate. The £11m arrival from Augsburg will be hoping to impress after continuing in the role ahead of Paulo Bernardo.
In attack, Kyogo starts through the middle with Daizen Maeda and Nicolas Kühn in the wide areas.
Bench: Sinisalo, Trusty, Palma, Idah, Valle, Yang, McCowan, Nawrocki, bernardo, Forrest, Ralston & Welsh
The club are targeting their first opening day win in the competition and will want to continue their fine start to the season.
Come on Celtic!
