Team’s Up – Same again Celts, Maeda on bench

Brendan Rodgers has named his Celtic team for this afternoon’s Premiership clash against Hearts. The league leaders can move six points clear of chasers Rangers, who play tomorrow.

It is same again for Celtic from the team that beat Dundee 2-1 last Sunday with the major update being Daizen Maeda returning from injury.

Joe Hart starts in goals.

Cameron Carter-Vickers partners Liam Scales in the heart of the defence with Alistair Johnston and Greg Taylor in the full back berths.

Callum McGregor starts in the middle along with Reo Hatate and Matt O’Riley.

Kyogo starts up front with James Forrest and Nicolas Kuhn supporting.

Subs: Bain, Palma, Idah, Yang, Nawrocki, Tomoki, Bernardo, Maeda, Ralston.

Celtic will be hoping to get revenge on the visitors from Edinburgh, who have recorded two wins in their last two meetings with Celtic.

It is a massive boost for Celtic fans to see Daizen Maeda back on the bench ahead of next weekend’s Glasgow Derby against Rangers. The Japanese forward has terrorised James Tavernier in the fixture and hopefully he can continue to dominate the Rangers captain.
