Team’s Up – Simo Valakari named Saints XI for Celtic clash

Simo Valakari has named his St Johnstone starting XI for this afternoon’s Premiership match against Celtic. The Scottish Champions will be looking to extend their lead at the top of the table while compounding the Perth side to the bottom of the table.

St Johnstone: Rae, Cameron, Mikulic, Sanders, Franczak, Sprangler, Smith, Essel, Raymond, Clark, Kirk.

Subs: Sinclair, Neilson, Holt, Carey, Wright, Sidibeh, Kucheriavyi, Kimpioka, Keltjens.

Meanwhile, Brendan has named his team as he prepares for Thursday’s trip across Glasgow to face Rangers at Ibrox. The Irishman will be focused on this game but will certainly have Thursday in the back of his mind.

Schmeichel, Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Scales, Valle, Hatate, Engels, Bernardo, Yang, Kühn, Kyogo.

Subs: Sinisalo, Trusty, Taylor, Palma, Idah, McCowan, Maeda, McGregor, Ralston.

Celtic were irresistible as they blew St Johnstone away 6-0 when the sides met earlier this season. The visitors will be looking to frustrate Celtic and defend in a compact unit but will be fully aware that their slightest mistakes will be punished.
