Team’s Up – Sinisalo, Trusty and Kenny start, no place for JSP

Brendan Rodgers has named his Celtic team for this evening’s Premier Sports Cup clash with Falkirk. The holders, who beat Rangers in a classic Final last December, face a repeat of last season’s opening game – hosting John McGlynn’s Falkirk.

In goals, Vil Sinisalo starts. It may be that the Finnish goalie is the Cup keeper for this season.

In defence, Kieran Tierney starts at left back with Alistair Johnston at right back. Dane Murray starts alongside Auston Trusty with the Celtic Academy product having just signed a new deal until 2028.

In midfield, Callum McGregor captains the side with

Johnny Kenny starts through the middle with James Forrest and Daizen Maeda on the flanks.

Subs: Schmeichel, Scales, Nygren, Idah, Yang, Shin, Bernardo, Hatate & Ralston
