Team’s Up – Tounekti starts for Celtic on O’Neill’s return

Martin O’Neill has named his Celtic team for this afternoon’s Scottish Premiership clash against Dundee United. The Irishman returns as Celtic manager for a third spell after the disastrous 33 day reign of Wilfried Nancy.

O’Neill has gone for a back four banishing the wild tactics of Nancy’s 3-4-3. There is a recall to the team for returning Sebastian Tounekti.

There are no real surprises beyond the Tunisian coming back into the squad. It looks like the preferred 4-2-3-1 lineup that MON utilised in his successful interim spell pre Nancy.

In goals, Kasper Schmeichel starts.

In defence, Julian Araujo starts at right back with Kieran Tierney in the left back berth. A central pairing of Auston Trusty and Liam Scales starts.

In midfield, Callum McGregor captains the side with Arne Engels starting beside the skipper. Reo Hatate starts in the forward midfield role.

In attack, Sebastian Tounekti starts out left with Yang on the right leaving Daizen Maeda through the middle to lead the line.

Subs: Sinisalo, Nygren, McCowan, Kenny, Bernardo, Murray, Forrest, Donovan, Ralston.
