Team’s Up – Vincenti in goals, Wellings and Jacynta up top, as Alonso goes 3-5-2

Here’s the team news from Celtic FC Women for the SWPL1 visit to Petershill Park this afternoon to take on current Champions Glasgow City. The match is live on BBC Alba with the game kicking off at 4.30pm.

Anna Vincenti has the gloves today For Celtic

As we told you yesterday, Anna Vincenti gets the gloves today due to injuries to both ChloeLogan and Rachael Johnstone but there should be no concerns about the former Hibs and Partick Thistle keeper today.

Shen starts

Fran Alonso is planning some tactical surprises so we’re not sure on the formation and whether he’ll stick to his three at the back with two wing backs maybe sitting a little deeper today that previously against a team which is scoring goals for fun recently – hitting Aberdeen for TEN a few weeks ago.

Clark, Hayes, Clark and Shorts could be the back four if that’s the plan – certainly all four start and we’ll see if Clark has her American football armour on after all! You certainly wouldn’t blame her after her last experience here.

Toland will sit in midfield Warrington could be the fifth player in a back five playing as a wingback and the attacking midfielders are Harkes and Shen. The front two pairing of Wellings and Jacynta are more than capable and will provide Celtic with a viable goal threat today.

Jacynta is a goal threat for Celtic

On the bench Fran Alonso has Bartle, Larisey (an impact sub) Chance, Atkinson, Gros, Bowie and Timoney with no sub goalkeeper available.

Why watch that abhorrent lot play on Premier Sports, instead check out BBC Alba and enjoy Glasgow City versus Celtic FC Women with a 4.10pm kick-off this afternoon.

It’s probably 3-5-2 but with Fran Alonso you never know what he’s got up his sleeve.
