Team’s Up – Welsh starts as French stars Edouard and Jullien miss out

The Celtic team to play against theRangers in today’s first Glasgow Derby of the season at Celtic Park is as follows:

CELTIC TEAM: Barkas, Duffy, Brown, Klimala, Ntcham, Elyounoussi, Frimpong, Ajer, McGregor, Welsh, Laxalt.

CELTIC Subs: Bain, Taylor, Griffiths, Ajeti, Soro, Turnbull, Rogic, Henderson, Ralston

As The Celtic Star revealed early this morning Stephen Welsh will play in the central defensive position with Christopher Jullien still unavailable due to his ongoing back problem. And there is no place for Odsonne Edouard as Neil Lennon has decided against risking the player so soon after returning from his self isolation in France due to a positive COVID-19 result while away on Under 21 duty.

The only change to the team we gave you this morning is that Moi Elyounoussi is preferred to to Albian Ajeti who makes the bench after returning from his hamstring strain picked up in the win over Hibs.  LeighGriffiths is also available from the bench.

Kick-off is at 12.30pm…COYBIG
