Team’s Up – Yang and Maeda start for Celtic in Belgrade

Brendan Rodgers has named his Celtic team for this evening’s UEFA Europa League opener against Red Star Belgrade. The Scottish Champions secured their passage to the Premier Sports Cup Semi Final with a 4-0 win against Partick Thistle on Sunday and will be looking to follow that up with a display against the Serbian league leaders.

In goals, Kasper Schmeichel starts. The Danish Internationalist was on the bench for the League Cup trip to Firhill but returns to the starting XI.

In defence, Colby Donovan and Kieran Tierney continue in the fullback berths with Cameron Carter-Vickers and Liam Scales continuing as the central pairing.

In midfield, Callum McGregor starts with Benji Nygren and Reo Hatate.

In attack, Daizen Maeda returns to the starting XI to play through the middle with Seb Tounekti and Yang in the wide areas.

Subs: Sinisalo, Doohan, Balikwisha, McCowan, Iheanacho, Kenny, Engels, Bernardo, Saracchi, Murray, Forrest & Ralston.
