On a day where gloating was on the itinerary for theRangers, Celtic fans took the banter in their stride to brush off their ‘special day’.
theRangers fans’ were sad enough to not only hire a plane to fly over Tannadice, but to boast about their season’s exploits, clearly over the moon that they had finally managed to win a league title for the first time in eleven years. Yes, the news is rather dismaying, but Steven Gerrard’s men still have to win eight more titles to reach Celtic’s record. A long way to go yet!
The plane was the main viewing point of the game truth be told, with Celtic’s attacking output becoming worse and worse by the week. Yet another dull performance was endured by those who bravely continue to watch at home, and fans covered there eyes at some of the shots being taken. One man in particular, Ryan Christie, has been a serial offender for this – with it now becoming a running joke between Celtic fans that the Inverness-born midfielder often strikes the ball into orbit.
And, there was no better time to make the joke today, with the plane in the air, the Bhoys’ faithful saw the funny side of the banner with some well-timed tweets.
Where’s a Ryan Christie free kick when you need it. https://t.co/ITIyRSTZnx
